| Bonnie Baron Scully grew up in an Air Force family, living in Alaska, Ohio, New Mexico, Alabama, Florida, California, Virginia, South Dakota, Iowa, and North Carolina. She has traveled extensively throughout the world. | ||||
| She graduated from
Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama with a bachelor's degree in
English and a minor in Psychology, and received her teaching credentials
through Virginia Commonwealth University. A graduate of the College
for Financial Planning in Denver, she attained her Certified Financial
Planner designation in 1986. She is a member of the Financial Planning
Association and the Institute of Certified Financial Planners.
Currently she is actively involved in financial counseling through her books, seminars and involvement with marriage preparation programs.. Her previous book is The Scully Files, Organizing Your Finances-A Spiritually Oriented Guide to Managing Your Money. Bonnie's career has been quite diverse. She has worked as a Certified Financial Planner with Parsec Financial Management, as a business and financial advisor, and as the Chairman of the Airline and Travel Career Program at the National College of Business. Earlier in her career, she worked as an elementary school teacher, tax preparer, travel agent, and as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. Bonnie has been married for 34 years to her college sweetheart, Bob, who is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Asheville, North Carolina. They have been blessed with two children. Since she and her husband settled in Western North Carolina in 1980, Bonnie has been very active in the community. She has participated in Leadership Asheville, United Way, Hospice, and the Parish Council for St. Joan of Are Church. She has worked on the boards of Junior Achievement, Children's Home Society, the Jesuit House of Prayer, and the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte. She has served as president of the school board and the Parent-Faculty Association at Asheville Catholic School, and president of the Buncombe County Dental Auxiliary. She has also been active on the Bele Chere Entertainment Committee and the St. Joseph's Hospital Special Events Committee. She is listed in Marquis Who's Who in America, Marquis Who's Who in Business and Finance and Who's Who of American Women, Millenium Edition. Her personal interests include writing, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her family. |
